Imprinted in all who have served "The Guns", there exists a very real and tangible pride in the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery. Because of the extent of its accomplishments in many locations world wide, this Regimental Spirit has been fostered through word of mouth, by service to "The Guns", and by written word, from one generation to the next. Without communications, pictures, memories, written words or background, there is no tradition. No one generation, book or set of memories based upon the service to the guns" can adequately record our great and universal history. This web site is but another method to spread the word and permit new avenues of communications needed to continue the traditions and record our time in history!

And so it is fitting that this new age of communications and this web site, should now take its place amongst the others, which in due course will come to influence the shape of things to come. This web site is dedicated to the members, serving, past and future of the 30th Field Regiment in Ottawa Canada, being only one of the many Canadian units that make up the great family of the Royal Canadian Artillery. This one Unit, changed in name and in establishment many times, has always belonged to Ottawa Canada. Within its ranks for almost 150 years, these men and women have served "The Guns" both faithfully and with honour and distinction. The Spirit that motivated the Officers and Other Ranks has never changed. Good citizens and good soldiers are the essential requirements of Militia Service to Canada.

Finally, we pay tribute to those of our comrades who have paid the Supreme Sacrifice. To those who will serve the Regiment in the future from Ottawa Canada in Peace or War, best wishes. To all who may visit this web site we welcome you, for out of the story of our history developed over almost 150 years, comes the knowledge of a great tradition of serving "The Guns".
