The Bytown Gunners Order is a non profit Trust Fund with Ontario Letters Patent issued 22 June 1981. The purpose of the Order is "to accept donations, gifts, legacies and bequests and, subject to any trust with respect thereto, to administer the same and the income thereof and, in its discretion, to make donations there-from to the 30th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, or any successor artillery unit of the Canadian Armed Forces, the headquarters of which are located in the said City of Ottawa for the advancement of efficiency and well being of such unit and its serving members".

The BGO has created this un-official web site in order to provide a "communications" vehicle for persons interested in viewing, reading, researching, looking-at or expressing artillery, military and other related subjects. As such, this site is not in any way an official site for the Department of National Defence, the Canadian Armed Forces or any other Federal or Provincial government or private sector organization. We hope to provide a "common" site for persons interested in knowing more about the BGO related community in the Ottawa/Hull and National Capital Region (NCR).
